to buy or not to buy

I wish to purchase the curtain pick set from the sks catalouge for £134.00 reputadly capable of picking 5 lever locks with curtains. Can any one verify this for me eg does it work and is it worth the expense. I have just finished bob currys sas training course in hereford which was very good and am now looking to start trading on my own. However I am still not sure how to pick cutained locks without destrucction as we were only shown the template drilling method. Can anyone help with this matter please.

I am not sure about the sks pick as I have not heard of them before. On the other hand the picks from Chris Belcher have been held in very high esteem on these boards from those who use them everyday. I am sure that Pinky, NKT, Toomush2drink or someone will be along soon and can offer a better answer than I can.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

People go for the Chris Belcher pick as it's more versatile. The RB
pick is well made.

Get the CB pick, the icl pick doesnt feel as good in the lock.

Chris Belcher all the way but everyone has their own opinion.

The CB pick is cheaper than the icl one to non members by the way

The cb pick is the most versatile pick to buy by far, it takes a little longer to get to grips with but is well worth the effort in practice.

Im more concerned that you are the 2nd person to have done this 3 week course and not been taught curtain lock picking, this i find scandalous, as its an important part of training.
The country has enough driller killers calling themselves locksmiths, we need more locksmiths who pick to drag the industry out of the gutter and regain the respect it once had.
