If i wanted a bump key what would i need to tell a locksmith

Postby crazyguy_07 » 17 Jan 2006 4:01

Where i live there are a few dodgy guys at the markets that cut keys for $2 Australian.
If i wanted to get a bumpkey cut what would i need to tell him wat i wanted.
The locks i want to open are branded 'Lockwood'. Do yous know how many pins most lockwood locks contain. if not, would i need to get a bumpkey for 5 pin, 6 pin and a 7 pin?

Probably those guys cutting the keys for 2usd have only copy machines, so they won't be able to cut any 999 keys.

Go to an actual locksmith and ask for a key cut to code, give him a piece of paper saying "Front door lock - 99789".

They will have no problems in cutting it for you. Then file down cuts 3 and 4 to the same depth as the rest.

BTW, where in Australia are you?

Because nobody wants to say "999999."
