i am a totally new comer to lock picking.
which materials are useful to make picks?
and what should be the measurements?
and i have been trying to pick a door knob for quite some time
i hear sounds occasionally but i dont know what it means..
and how do you use tension wrenches?
do you just stick it into the lock?
and where to insert the pick? i cant seem to find where the pins are.
sorry for asking stupid questions..

I don't think he can be accepted as a padawan yet, my master.

arvFa,

Never mind the jesters here... It's been a while since they have had a newbie meal and they forget they are supposed to be helpful.

Google for and read the "MIT Guide to Lockpicking"... it is sort of a minimal reading requirement before you attempt to get questions answered here. Also, read the stickys and FAQS in the 'general sections' here.

If you don't understand something in that guide... ask about it. We'll help you, but, we won't spoon feed you a training course. You will need to do some (quite a bit) of reading on your own.

...and while you are here... fill out your profile.

Moderators: Is it possible to get a phpBB2 module that prevents posting until the new user has read the FAQs?

Check out the MIT Guide. Windshield wiper blade inserts are excellent for makining picks and tension wrenches. A bench grinder and maybe a Dremel Tool are quite adequate for making picks. Keep "searching". Good Luck
