Code Machine

Postby Cybernation » 25 Jan 2006 23:49

I posted the other day about a key machine and thought I would also ask what code machine you guys use? Are they worth purchasing? If so what would the cheapest/most versatile machine?

I posted this in another thread...

This is an easy one...

1) The Foley Belsaw machine is junk!

2) My personal favorite code machine is the Framon 2. If you insist on the HPC than buy the Ilco Universal 2. Its an HPC copy and you will receive all the code cards on CD. HPC charges extra for those plus the Ilco is cheaper.

3) The Rytan RY200 is my favorite duplicator. I do all my work with the Framon 2 and Rytan.

HPC SwitchBlitz is the cheapest and most versatile code machine. Not necessarily the best, but pretty decent nonetheless.

With this machine you can perform standard duplicating, cut by code, and with attachment also cut tubular keys.

If you are just a hobbyist, they arn't for you. (Unless your pockets stick out more then your belly) You are looking at 2-3K for a HPC. Don't know how much for a Framon, but believe they are more. My personal choice... Ilco UltraCode. Expensive, but gets the job done right, and without much user intervention. HPC Blitz was my first though.... Love it still. just has a little competition.

Can't have a thread like this without mentioning the ITL 950's....;) They're expensive, but tough and able to cut Medeco.
