Nice new pick set....

Postby Sbecspeledrx » 8 Mar 2006 19:59

Well, I have a few quid to throw at a new pick set (cylinder locks) having bent my first set to buggery! I'm looking for something at £40 or under. Anyone got a link to some nice sets?

My first set was this one

And now I'm looking at this one

from the Devon Locks site. If anyone knows of any better deals, let me know. Also are the broken key extractors any use? Or does a fish hook do just as good a job?

Your pics dont work and if they are not hosted on your own web space like photo b ucket they arent allowed anyway and you should just link to them,
Extractors are good if they are decent ones, a fish hook is good as well as making one from a fret saw blade but ive just got some HPC ones im looking forward to playing with and look very good.

I think Direct linking is disabled...

The first one is the 5 piece slimlines...

The second is the 22 piece slimlines...

The extractors are the set of 4 at the bottom of the page.

Well i use SO myself and have the 72 piece set which havent let me down but i am going to buy a Falle set just for the shear hel of it at Telford,

That set should be fine for you, deburr the picks though with some wet'ndry if you get them as they tend to be rough on the edges.

Im not sure on price without scanning the net for you but all in all it seems ok, if the link to the video or ebook or whatever is the deciding factor dont let it be.

I'm sooooooooooo tempted to get the Falle Safe picks - and I mean to the point it's making me pace across the room...

I they weren't like £140 I'd get them without hesitation...

I suppose thats the differance in pulling a wage in that area of work that can substansiate the cost and hen be used for tools of the trade, a hobby picker would find the cost prohibitive and also the fact that not many places will sell them to non lockies.

Sorry but the links to our images won't work because of a script we have running to prevent people using our bandwidth to display images on their websites. We also have a block on linking to images because of sites like Google Images.

You're better off linking directly to the page instead of the images just for info :D
