Which lockpick set to buy

Hello

I want to buy lock pick set and i don't know if Pro-line's are made of good quality metal ? I bought Southord few months ago and most of them damaged very easily. Are there Pro-line's more efficient and they are not breaking so easily ? THanks for any help

My opinion is that southord picks are very good and don't break easily. What must have happened was that you applied too much tension with the tension wrench. Beginners tend to break a lot of picks because of that. So I advise you to make your own tools first and after having some experience buy some good tools...you'll see that southord tools are very good and break resistant.

By the way which lockpicks do you think are better , those Proline or Southord ? I think Southord are a little bit cheaper

Never tried the proline picks so I can't tell you wich is the best. I'm very satisfied with the southord ones. Slime line with reenforced handle are very good to open the locks I have. If you are from US I think that you should buy the southord. If you're from Europe... well, take your chance or wait till someone from the forum tells you his opinion on proline.

Southord is a good brand and i dont think they damage easily. I have a set and i think they are strong and reliable.

You definantly need more practice if your damaging your tension tool inside the lock. The tension required on most locks is so minimal it can be very easy to over apply tension and bend your picks, so my suggestion is taking your time with the lock so you can get a feel for it. There is a finess to picking... Some people "Get it" after reading the guides and are able topick their first lock with improvised tools, others dont "get it" and take more time to figure out what they are doing wrong.
