whats in there

Postby raimundo » 27 Apr 2006 9:30

the shiny ones, bottom left corner, and the shiny one just north of dead center look promising, but you really cant see for sure if they are just common 5 pins or something high security, that may be medeco in the second row from bottom on the right hand end. if also may not be, but the rounded edges and protruding plug give the look of an older medeco.

Whoa... that's an awesome haul. I've been looking for a similar sized lot on eBay myself -- I usually get my mortise cylinders one or two at a time and it's getting to be a pain to keep up with my increasing skills. (a lot of the time I open up the package and the lock is picked 2 minutes later).

Those should keep you busy for a couple of weeks anyway

actually, I can see a bilock key in the box - the white and red thing. top left corner. Anyone reconise any locks? I've never seen a medeco close up so i don't know about them.

The locks came yesterday, and I'm sad to say that there weren't any medecos in there. The following were:

32 Amarlite 5 pin

5 Amarlite 4 pin

2 US Lock 5 pin

1 Alumiline 4 pin

1 Russwin 5 pin (has a screw that removes the core from the threaded casing, which I find very cool/weird)

2 Russwin 6 pin

3 Yale 5 pin

1 National 5 pin

1 Kawneer 5 pin (I've never heard of it before either)

1 unknown brand 5 pin.

It was still a good deal in my opinion. Some of the cylinders have the little screw-in backplates missing, but that's not a problem really.
