Hey everybody, I'm new here, and new to lockpicking. I was wondering, are there any household items that can be used as picks/tension wrenches? I've searched and only found paperclips and windshield wipers...
Is there anything that doesn't require filing/sanding/grinding/sawing/soldering etc?

paper clips dont evolve anything but bending witch u can do with your hands and if ur just like starting to pick locks like me and like do locks with very few pins then u can use a bent paper clip and a bent swiss army knife tweezers
a pick is only as good as its user

and oh as for household items for picks: i have done a few basic searches here and found like 4 guides on this and like 4 forums just for it. try searching a bit better, things will appear and you'll be able to find things like hacksaw blades, bike spokes, steak knives, allen wrenches, pen clips and all sorts of ingenious stuff.

For a good set of homemade picks for you to realy be able to practice with and get a feel for lockpicking your gonna have to grind-file- sand stuff.
Improvised items are fun, but you need to learn the basics with real picks before you can use improvised items effectively.
Dont take this the wrong way but...
If you arent willing to sand-file-grind stuff to make picks, this might not be the hobby for you.
I do understand that some people dont have tools ect... available to them. IF you dont have a grinder I'ed suggest buying a single speed dremel. They run around $30 USD and can be used for a TON of stuff. Very nice to have around.

What you are referring to is 'drain snake' search the site for other uses, and if memory recalls some photos of picks made this way. Windshield wiper blades make the best wrenches, allong with street sweeper bristles.
