The Dragon Wrench... the best wrench?

Postby conker » 26 May 2006 3:08

**THIS WRENCH IDEA BELONGS TO STEVEN HAMPTON** DO NOT FORGET THAT...

The dragon wrench is a tool that can be used in a lot of situations. It is versitile and can fit almost any lock you can find. I have found it very handy, and is nice to have in your set. You can make one with some difficulty, since they are not very well known. The wrenches can be used for tubular, wafer, cylinder, and fits nearly all the brands.

I do not know if this has been posted before, I searched for it on this forum, but if it has hopefully someone uses this knowledge.

there is the basic idea. Of course you can modify it to your own liking. You can add more wrenches, or even picks. It would be interesting to make one like this except with picks, instead of a variety of wrenches. Good luck, and when making this, I recomend a cheap piece of metal you can get at a hard ware store. Cut out a piece that is about the size you want, and then use a metal grinder to mold it to your liking.
Just be sure to dip it in water frequently while making it!
Good luck, and you will have to use locks to decide how large to make this.

Wow, very intresting concept there. As far as the materials, I imagine you'd just use a sheet of metal about the same thickness as you'd normally have a tension wrench made with, and take the sheet to the grinder.

Some of the narrow areas obviously would be rather tricky, and look like they'd require a dremel tool or a considerable ability with a file. That is, of course, assuming that the dragon wrench is meant to be made as a two-dimensional piece of metal.

The idea seems best suited to padlocks, where the dimensions of the pick wouldn't get in the way quite so badly. As far as the dimensions, I don't see why the image posted couldn't be used as a template. It seems workable enough.

*cough* I think I'm gonna make one and work on a tutorial if I find time. :)

Conker: You say you have made one?

Please could you post a photo of it here, and preferably include a ruler next to it?

Thanks a lot. :)

i actually have the ebook that contains all the info on this, as well as some extraneous things about lockpicking. I believe the tips of the top 2 prongs were bent at something like a 45 degree angle or something, maybe if i can dig it up in my comp i can upload it to u guys.

dragon wrench

Postby scampdog » 11 Jul 2006 18:06

i've made one of these wrenches, and the image on the screen is the right scale.they are a novelty, but i found it to be far to cumbersome to be practical.,but it's good practice for using your dremel and files.
there's no such thing as gravity. The earth SUCKS!!
