Can't find tools ...

hey everyone , i am very new to lockpicking . i've taken a big tour of this forum and it is great!
the problem i am facing is that i can't find tools, so i can't get started.
i cannot order online from abroad because i don't have a credit card and the shipping costs are huge.
i am from romania so if anyone has any idea where i could find a kit of tools please let me know. i don't really want to make the tools myself because i want to trust what i am using.

Well to be honest most everything we do we have more trust if we make it our selves.. like burgers( who knows how many times its hit the floor before they serve it to you at MCdonalds ) we make it our selves.. we have more trust knowing where it came form how it was made ect.. Same with a pick, Maybe its all psycolgical.. but lockpicking is mostly that. Plus it seems that if you don't want to order it and dont have plastic... well making picks is your only choice because no lockie around me sells picks, and if he did even with what i know he probobly would'nt sell them to me.. also if you find someone who does.. like this suba place around me.. dont ask me what relevnce the two have, you will pay probobly double in shipping so to speak.. then tend to inflataite prices. quickie example. Simple quick pick i got mine for 20 bucks, plus 3$ shipping so 23$ in all right? They sell this pick at the store for 35 dollars, sounds absurb yes? Well they do sell them and some other picks there very very much. Order online.. i am taking it that you are young and don't have a card right? if not correct me, but if so i would assume that your parents don't mind you owning picks hence you asking about them? If this is the case ask them or someone you trust with a card to order the picks and simply give them the $$. Plus you have to 18 to order picks anyway, and probobly buy them (plus oyu need to be a "bonafide" lockie to buy them from suppliers.) So prorobly making is the best way here.. not to mention the skills you will learn to make homebrews to fit your style, sold picks are just the standard.. you still have to file off burs and sand.. polish if oyu want to get a little tricky... all of this i would suggest practicing on home made ones.. need matereial? like said get a dremel and bench grinder.. or just a dremel go to a junk yard and get oil dipsticks and wiper inserts.. all you can carry for free.. imean heck its great recycling to the car will be smahsed anyway. good luck. If you lived in the states i would have made you a small started set for like 3 bucks but romainia is farrr from me. Good luck.

or just a dremel go to a junk yard and get oil dipsticks and wiper inserts.. all you can carry for free..

Ummmm? Did You ASK your friendly junkyard dude if you could TAKE the stuff. Last time I checked, Junkyard parts werent free.

I think you should make some picks, there are various sources of metal, collect any metal that you think could be used, test it for stiffness, you do not want to make them of soft metal that will not spring back but would rather bend and set in a bend. hair pins, springs off a lot of different things, flat steel springs, wiper stiffeners, streetsweeper bristles, feeler gauges, drain snakes, small hacksaw blades for those tiny hacksaws. then you will want to find something to cut the metal, some metal is to hard for filing, and if it is, it may also be too brittle for a long lasting pick. but it can be shaped with whatever motorized grinder you have. be sure you do not further harden the metal with the grinder, and hold your metal very tight, you do not want any machine to grab it and fling it in your face. If you find a metal part to reshape that can be cut with a file, and still is springy, not bendand set material, that would be the piece to go with, keep a key with you when you look for the metal, the ideal metal would be thinner than the thin edge of the key that has the cuts, but not a lot thinner. Yesterday, I found some bicycle spokes out behind a bike shop, they were flattened by design, I am thinking of making tensors out of them. Sand your picks to get rid of all the sharp rough toolmarks, this is the key to success, and do not go for extreme pick tip sizes, a good pick is about the middle size of the cuts on the key,

LOL nononono maybe the term i used was wrong its a U-Pull yard.. kinda likt a junk yard, but no i asked the guy if i could take the dip sticks and wipers, he said take all you need saves me the money of scrapin the things when the cars been stripped.. if i didnt ask.. i probobly would be shot or beaten pretty badly.. i mean they do have alot of strong metal peices in places like that.. plus its where i buy cheap parts for my car so he knows he anyway.. but yes always ask and opt to give some money if you don;t know the person lol sorry i was a tad vauge..

I jsut was in a hurry and didn't describe it well, i will probobl go up this weekend if i have time doudtful though, sis graduates and i have to work double shifts at my job so we can finish this project on time... ehh well i'm making money to pay bills
