You seem to be really aggressive with your pick - might want to try and be more relaxed.

Hmm... I'm led to believe that Defiant is a copy of Kwikset, so I guess not a bad lock to start with.

I may as well say this, since it needs saying:
Don't pick any lock you actualy rely upon, unless the alternative is death or gross bodily dismemberment.

I guess you've just proved to yourself that you really need a good lock on your door.

Nice work on your first pick, don't pick locks you care about, try to loosen up the guerilla grip you have on your picks, and most importantly keep picking.

Thanks illusion i am relaxed when im picking but i was holding camera in my mouth and it was heave :P

The grip on lockpick is good for me cause i hold my finger on the bottom so i can feel the pins.

And one question how do i rake locks ?

Thanks :)

To rake: insert rake pick, or half-diamond pick. Push to back of lock. Pull out in a fluid motion. Repeat untill lock is open. If lock is still not open try different amounts of tension.

fluid is like...

water tap the water keeps coming out.

What he means is put pick in back of lock and hit all the pins all the way back and continue this method till lock opens.

Put pick in lock and swipe it out gently so you hit every pin.

Fluid motion - smothly, deliberatley but not in a rough way.

Fluid is used in this context to mean dont jab and poke at it, move it in and out fully and methodically,

Hope this helps.

Defiant is, in fact, a Home Depot branded version of a Kwikset lock. They are pretty good locks to be starting with.
