Ok so im really curious why i cant pick this dam R70

Is it possible that my pick needs to go up threw the hole of the bottom pin to actually set it?

No, think about it, how would the key open it?

I'll tell you this much about the R70, and Brinks locks in general:

The R70 takes quite a bit of tension at the beginning to overcome the spring and pick it to a false set. Then you have at least 1 serrated spool pin to deal with. The serrated sppols act funny when you try to pick them and they take quite a bit of pick force to overcome the serration.

My point is this:

Once you get the lock picked into a false set you must identify the spool or spools that are hanging first, then when you try to set them they're going to hit the serration and feel as though they set when in reality you have to continue to press the pin until you feel it set yet again. This is where knowing the spools Brinks use are also serrated comes in handy.

These spools are also prone to hanging really hard, so you have to really control your tension when trying to pick it out of the false set state. If you're using too much tension you'll almost certainly "snap" the pins up into the chamber and overset it. The R70 has such a tight spring that controlling your tension can become quite a chore in itself.

Yes, Brinks spool pins have 1 serration between the spool cut and the end of the pin on both ends.
Have a look at the "Newfound Respect for Brinks" thread to see a picture of these pins, then you'll know what you're up against. Just go through the posts in that thread until you see a picture of the pins that Brinks use. They use some of the most evil spool pins I've seen to date.

Has anyone ever seen one of those spools that have a little spring wound around the thinned oart of the shaft? It looks totally awkward, I'll see if I can get a picture up of that one. I am not yet sure as to what effect the spring is supposed to have... didn't make picking too much harder when I used it in a chamber. I think I found it in an old Winkhaus cylinder.
