If you feel someone is messing with your account here tell one of us and we can look into it,
If its a problem with your own pc then yes unplug it and make a report to the police, im sure its seen as a serious offence,

I guess almost 1/2 the wireless networks I can pick up with my external antenna are open systems. On a clear night I can recieve 12-14 wireless routers. I have so many people around me with wireless networks I had to set mine to channel 13 to get away from the interference. If are using a wireless network log onto your router and change the login and password from the default, change the SSID name from the default setting, enable the WEP at 128 bits or 256 bits and set up access control. That will stop the adverage wireless hacker.

bpc293:
1st question: it depends on where you live and where the hacker lives.
2nd question: turn the computer off, or just disconnect it from the internet.
3rd part: are you suggesting ad0beaddict is hacking your computer?

the adobe thing is a joke i think, cuz adobe lives like around the corner from bpc.
how is he hacking your pc? your emial was VERY scattered. i mean, i couldnt understand it, it was all fragmented and scattered.
unplug and file police report.
other than that you can try and find them. after filing police report. and threaten to kill them. ok, maybe not kill them, but at least punch them in the face.
but how are they hacking the computer?

bpc93:
what has been exactly has been hacked?
if someone is just using your bandwidth without permission then follow the advice by CVScam
if someone has found out your userids/passwords for email or various sites like this one then change your passwords and contact the moderators of those sites
if someone has actually hacked your PC then the best advice is to flatten & rebuild ie wipe the disk and reload all software etc
Unless you give more detailed info none of us can help you too much

forgot to add:
I was assuming that your firewall and virus protection software were uptodate. if not, then that would be a good start

Ya better get spybot and some other security software on there, to see if your keystrokes are being sent to someone, and if you are on wi fi of your own, you can dump the rest of the riders with some security software, but if you are using someones wifi, theres not much you can do to keep your stuff private, probably if someone is hashing your stuff, its someone who has snooped and then taken some righteous position about this topic, A lot of crooks are prone to going righteous, look at the republicans, its all they do.

Probably just a nasty virus beginning to consume your hard drive sector by sector. If it's a virus you need some thing like Norton. Left unchecked you will eventually not be able to boot windows. It could also be a spyware or adware in which case most any spyware removal tool will work.
By switching from Internet Explorer to Firefox you greatly reduce your chances of virus attacks. Microsoft or microcrap as it is referred to by hackers has more security holes then swiss cheese.
I also recommend using Thunderbird over Outlook Express for email. Get rid of as much Microsoft products that can access the Internet as possible.
Also, stay away from warez sites, plagued with all sorts of nasties

Firefox - just so much better than IE anyway... I'd never use IE again.
Thunderbird - I think it ranks about similar with the latest Outlook, but I don't tend to download email much so don't really use either.
Norton Antivirus? I consider it a fat pile of crud, and am sorely annoyed that my paid subscription to their programme has done bugger-all to prevent my computer gathering virii. I've had far more protection from using the free AVG antivirus, and really do get bugged by the fact the product I paid for is of less use than a free version. Lean, mean and keen my arse...
I use AdAware for spyware and find it to work really nicely.
I used to get lots of supposed hack attempts from San Jose, USA last year... Norton Internet Security has it's uses I guess.
