whats the tiny hole (about the diameter of a paperclip) for? Its on the bottom of the lock directly underneath the point about which the U shaped bar spins around. I can take a picture if you want. anyone know? I can;t get this stupid thing open, either. I know ther've been posts about it, but this one is driving me mad.
thanks!

thanks, guys I was hpoing that I could use it to help open it or dissassemble it or decode it somehow... I think I'll just take a dremel to it and find out how it works (and also get a little revenge )

I don't know what that means exactly but it seems a little criminal..... I hope it isn't.
dremel all you want but it probably won't do anything. on most locks it's just a hole to let rain water out or to put lube in.....

hi sgaterboy,
Usually on these Fortress padlocks the 3rd pin is a spool. That is what kept me at it for a while. If it always seems like the 3rd pin is giving you trouble, keep that in mind, you'll eventually get it.

I doubt that hope has anything to do with it... Revenge almost every time equals criminal intent. At this moment sgaterboy is one of the very few member I wouldn't want to help with learning to pick. the master e wrote:whats a spool? Is that a pin which is not a regular pin, sort of mushroom pin?
I believe that THIS will clear things up for you.
Aye,
