I was wondering what is a good quality cutter that can cut master lock keys by code. I was also wondering if there are roughly 10000 different code combinations for a four pin lock. If so would that mean there is a 1 in 10000 chance you possess a key that opens another lock somewhere else in the world made by the same company???

there are 4096 possible combinations for a 4 pin tumbler master lock
depths 0 - 7

Not all are useable , so the actual number is less.

There are many different code machines available, that will cut a master padlock key to code.. be prepared to spend some $ for any code machine...it is mostly a matter of personal choice and the volume of keys you plan to cut.....Framon , Pro-lock, HPC , Curtis, ITL amoungst others make a machine that will cut master padloc keys to code
