Picking the Abus Buffalo 28/70 Padlock

Postby ernesto_15_2000 » 27 Sep 2006 22:25

I tried to pick this lock all day yesterday, on my day off, and to no avail. Has anyone out there been able to pick this one. I hear it's got spool pins in it, but how many. I recently viewed a DVD on lock picking and the person showing how to pick this particular lock did it with ease.

To my knowledge this lock contains a 4pin cylinder with the following pins:

1 to 3: spool pins
4: serrated pin (for some odd reason though the serrations never made setting this one more difficult, it feels just like an ordinary pin)

Try to set the fourth pin first so the lock goes on false set, afterwards the spools.

I notice you only have one post. How many locks have you picked? This lock could be just a step to advanced. Try picking some normal pin locks if you haven't, but I'm assuming you have. Then try some spool pin locks, and then some serraded pin locks, and then a lock with both.

Ease up on your tension some. That thing has security pins in it, and the only way around them is a light touch, or a good electric pick to bet it into submission.

There a good lock, you will need a slim line pick.

Also taking a wiper insert and just sticking it in top of the angled top of the plug, you can mak a wrench that will open the picking space alot.

I hate bumping.. but i have my key machine so.. yea boredom sets it :)

They bump easier that an R70.. but R70's open in 20sec's with the strong tension trick
