I have a Leonard Toolbox in the back of my truck. Where is the key? Your guess is as good as mine ;p

I do not want to spend the $100 most of the local guys charge to open it, so i thought why not give lockpicking a go. Can anyone suggest the best kind of tools for this kind of job?
Thanks!

my guess would be that it has a simple wafer lock on it in this case should be pretty easy, circle or double ball pick is best for this....

good luck

I'm not sure - have you lost the key to your truck, or simply the toolbox?

Im sorry but i dont like to say this, but as you have said you like to get back into picking again. So i take it you know alittle about this,You should know what sort of lock you are working with and if not do a search on this site to see if you can find the lock you are on about.

Why dont you do what Shrub says show a photo with detail.

Not been funny in anyway but these sort of posts always sound funny to me

Like someone as said its ok to open it but how are you going to lock it again you are going to need to change the lock or to have it keyed again.Your tools are in the box and you cant get them out i take it you need your tools for work,so with out any tools you wont have any work

Call a locksmith and get them to do it for you

well, actually i dont really need anything back there for work. to be honest it's just a place where i through my junk ;p the equivalent of the backseat or the boot for you car drivers.

i learned some minimal picking techniques for a scout badge in HS and never really did anything beyond that so i dont really know what kind of lock it is. It seems pretty simple, a pretty non-descript short flat key turns the metal latch and allows you to push the button all the way in

i did run a search....and as said in my original post, i did call a smith but i'm not to thrilled on paying the $100 he'll charge. the whole story is i am selling this truck to my father and i would like to get my crap out of the back and give him a working box--the key will turn up eventually...
i was just exploring other options

ok well... the merrit badge was for engineering. i had to learn how to take apart a lock and make diagrams of how it works, why it works etc. then i had to write a stupid paper about blah blah and hang around w\ a local locksmith a few days.

the highschool i went is called Riverside in Durham North carolina.

i'm not trying to break into somebody's toolbox if that's what you're implying
