Tenison Tool Help

I'm new to this so this might be a real stupid question but i bought two tenison tools from http://lock-pick-tools.com/lockpick_ten ... ief21.html

Part Number - ST TW-02
Part Number - ST TW-03

But the end are about 1/8 wide no way it's feet in a door lock if you hold it up and down what am i doing wrong

You put them in at an angle, they dont lay flat in a lock,

If you look around at the various picking vids you will see what i mean,

What lock are you trying to pick?

Some of the European profiles will need a certain sized tool but its doubtful your trying such a tight keyway and if you are you need to move to somthign easier at first,

Since you have both and I am going to assume that both are 1/8" wide, barely file the edges of only one to better fit most of your locks. Leave the other as it is incase you need a wider wrench for other locks that require them.

I am saying this by not even knowing where your from, which would help considerably. (Complete your profile please, it will help in the future).

my bad lol i live in the USA Kansas city cool I'll cut it down a bit and see if it works i find it harder to use to the side i use a trimmed down allen wrench and it works great for me but i don't know it seems a little big but I'll try what you said

in my begining, i made tension tools out of allen wrenches. I'd heat up the ends with a propane blowtorch until they were orange, hammer them flat, then re-heat to orange and dunk in ice water to harden. then i'd file them to the proper width. not very forgiving as far as pressure goes, but you'd learn quickly how much tension to use for particular locks and particular techniques.
