Weird Tubular Locks

Postby initnull » 23 Jan 2004 0:31

I was buying a pepsi at school and i noticed a very weird type of tubular locks i had never seen before. I took 2 pictures and uploaded thems to yahoo locksport group (http://groups.yahoo.com/group/locksports/) under pictures / Canadian tubular locks. (You need a yahoo acocunt to access).

Can someone tell me more about thems? someone already picked ?

I dont know if they are located elsewhere than pepsi distributor.

They can be had elsewhere. They are van locks. Easy to pick, with the right approach. Esentially the same as a tubular lock, you just need to find a way of applying tension.

I know this is an old thread, but I felt like posting something in it.

It looks as though you could put tension on it, by using something in the little notch on the right side.

It looks like it'd be fun to pick, anyone picked one of these yet?

Not that old of a thread, but ill bump it

Im not quite sure that there is a pick available for this type of lock, but picking it seems easy. Just need to find a way to place tension in the deep setting pin and perhaps picking the other pins with a paperclip? might work :P

Although it looks like a challange and I'd love to get my hands on a practice lock of these to toy around with. Anyone got some other information on Van Locks? I've checked around on google and searched on these fourms and didn't find alot
