Don't even bother with it. There are much better choices out there now. Peterson has a nice one, and our own Omikron has a great hammer. Check it out.

I have used and own the original Tomahawk, also used the slagcilinder.com tomahawks and have used Omikron's KEBumps. I am pretty attached to my tomahawk since I have used it so much but I really think the KEBump is the better tool.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

I have both, the KEH-2 Bump Tool and the Peterson Blue bump hammer.
They are both very effective tools. The KEH-2 is much more flexible. The Peterson has a stiffer handle. It just depends on which you prefer. I get good results with either one.
You can always make your own. I don't know what country your in, so you may have too find suitable material at you local hardware store.

I should have read your profile first. I see you are in the UK, and that you're also a carpenter. You shouldn't have much trouble making one.

Nope, the KEbump Kinetic Energy Hammer is only at Mark II right now, and will probably stay that way for quite some time.

Thank you, Omikron for a fine job with the Mark II, I also want to thank you for making replacements available for those of us who broke the handle off the Mark I.
You are a man if integrity, and I for one appreciate that.

Thanks for the kind words. I consider myself a fairly ethical person and so I try to hold myself to the same standards I hold others to.

Get the KEbump II.

The bumpit hammer from lockpicktools.com is a bad one, the plastic hammer head spalls off pieces like concoidal fractures in glass. I was sent one way back when lpt.com was scamming me actively about their rip off of the bogota design.
When I use a bump key, I use a small handle longshaft flat screwdriver I bought at ace hardware just for bumping, I stuck a cork on the screwdriver blade and it works well. the cork is the handle for the hammer, and the plastic handle is the bumphammerhead.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!
