Check out Yahoo Locksports Photo sections. A super easy way is to take a tubular key, grind down the outside including the nub, then use it as a turning tool and pick the pins with a small pick/needle.

Oh and, if you do end up buying a lock and grinding down the key, stay away from Kryptonite. THey tend to use a smaller diameter key, which may work but you will have to be careful when you grind it down.

but if you use this method wont you have to pick it more than once because it sets more than once? does anyone know how to make a real tubular pick that has all the picks around the tubing? someone else suggested using pvc pipe and needles or something but didnt go into great detail.
You can run, but you'll just die tired.

Yahoo Locksports photos section has pictures of home made tubular picks
Pipe and needles..some rubber bands... if you need to know more, grab a tubular lock, and stare at it for a while. You will figure it out.

I made myself all my picks till now, and I am very happy with them.
Still I beleive the tubular pick is way too dificult to make. Because of course using the grinded tubular key + pick technique you'd have to pick the lock 7 time to open it. So you have to make a ring that can keep the 7 or 8 small picks in place after you picked it once.
The old Southord 7 pin tubular pick is on sale for only $20 (instead of about $60) plus $5 for delivery at http://www.southord.com/catalog.asp?cat=Outlet

You will need to join the group to have access to the hyperlinks...

Ok... I still want to make my own pick- more for the experiance rather then praticality. So basicly, just from looking at the pictures of pro pics, I take a real key for a tubular lock, file down where the notches are (where the pins set into the key), so it runs the length of the key, here i place a pin or something to push the pin down correct?
