- Falle #2 deep curve (homemade, not double sided)
- Shortish hook templated from a Majestic set
- Bogata rake (one where I got a really effective shape)
- #4 deep curve for Schlage keyway
- #4 progressive curve for variety (they're the ones with the tapered shafts, right?) but I haven't found anything that I need it for.

Nothing beats the feeling of setting spools with a deep curve :-).

Love the hook's but often have to resort to the rake's. Half dimonds work well for me never used a full dimond.

If you ever see a full diamond it will be a bloody rarity. I don't think anyone has made one in more than 30 years. There just isn't any reason to make one.

You probably ran across that in one of my posts to be honest. I may be one of he few people here who has ever seen or used an actual full diamond.

Oddly enough, they were originally designed for wafer locks, but they have the same problem as hooks. They can grab the wafers and bend them.

Somebody came up with the idea of cutting one side off, and the "half diamond" was born. Now, because its been so long, its just refered to as a diamond.

Don't worry about being new. There are things that you may read about and never see. Its all just a part of it.

Used to be hooks, but im siding more with the half diamonds now. great tool. Locks with long key pins and tight warding the half diamond is easyer to use for myself. You can combine raking / SPP quickly as the diamond is great for both.

currently I'm favoring hooks because the locks I am working on are more difficult than they used to be.

I still sometimes use a rake to set an initial pin or two before picking.
