Why can't I edit my own posts in this forum? It would be nice to be able to edit mistakes noticed after posting.

I do, but unfortunately, I'm not perfect, I actually make mistakes.

I beg your pardon!!!!!!! Easy up buddy!! I'm not whining, If you'll notice, I'm new to this forum, most forums allow editing of posts. I just want to know WHY it's not allowed in this one?

I'm sure he meant nothing with it, i was about to tell you about the same.
point is, a lot of regular members get slightly aggravated by the "usual" questions.
I hope that this solves everything, if not, sorry for interfering.
Yours,
Jordy

Sorry if I asked a question that's been asked 1000 times. Maybe the answer (whatever it is????) could be added to the FAQ to reduce the times it's asked.

Perhaps, however, mods usually let members (and i quote D_B here) 'duke it out'.
You'll find that there have been countless debates on forum editing (with even mod and admin participation), if you search for it.
Anyway, happy picking.
Yours,
Jordy

We used to have an edit button but it was abused, and some members who decided to leave took their posts with them, leaving valuable threads useless and not making sense. So the edit button was removed so the info here does not get destroyed by someone acting like a 10 year old throwing a tantrum.
You get used to it trust me, and it is in the best intrest of the site,
Jamie.

why is because sometimes there are members who decide to pack up all they have contributed leaving threads like swiss cheese.... on a speerate note if you use the search function and search edit i'm sure your question can be answered by numerous numerous threads
again I didn't mean to seem un-emphathetic it's just that it bothers me some individuals would prefer to star new and useless threads because they either are too lazy or lack the understanding of a search function

Thank you parapilot for answering my question in POLITE concise way. If that had been done in the first place this thread would be done.
UWSDWF, You on the other hand appear to be condescending and demeaning.
First and foremost, I will not let anyone insult me. I am not lazy nor do I lack the understanding of a search function. Prior to my posting I did a search on this forum for "edit posts" and came up with 1916 results (39 pages). I searched through about 20 of these pages and found NO TOPICS pertaining to this subject. At that time I made my post.
Secondly, if this is your standard way to "help" newcomers to this forum, you have shown by example why the "EDIT" button needed to be removed.
