Total newb here, this is my first lock, I managed to pick the door to my garage earlier but couldn't do it again, the tumblers on this master lock wont stay up... any idea what's causing it to do this? I've tried many different amounts of tension.

I'll give it a shot right now with the half-diamond, I don't see how it could be tension though I tried applying as much as I physically could...

the order doesn't nessicarly have to be b to f it all depends on which pin binds first

If you havent already grab a read of my www button,
As UWSDWF correctly said the pins can bind in any order so you need to have a read of how to find the binding pin etc

I recommond using a variety of picks to do the job. Don't limit yourself to just using one pick on a lock. If you can get certain pins to stick and some not, try using a long hook for that pin after you set the other pins using the pick that works well for that. The hook will provide a more "push" upwards if you get what I'm saying. Remember to keep the tension on, while switching picks, you don't want to loose the picks you already have set.

I got it! The first tumbler simply will not go up first, I picked one near the back and worked my way to the front, I used the snake rake but I didn't rake it I simply picked with it.
Yay for me! Thanks for your support and fast replies you two. :)
