Ace II disassembly

Postby Eyes_Only » 14 Dec 2006 15:46

I ve searched around but couldnt find any information so far. I just bought a Ace II lock and want to see if i can repin it but cant figure out how to take the thing apart. There seems to be a pin pressed or screwed into the side thats holding it together but has no fitting to get a allan wrench or anything to work on it to get it out. Is there a way to disassemble and repin this lock?

You should be able to either drill it out, or use a self-tapping screw to get a grip on it.

Is the pin threaded in so I can reuse it again or is it pressed in and would have to be replaced for reassembly?

There should be an excellent (stickied?) disassembly/guide by Illusion that might help you out on this one.

probably not threaded . unless it has a place for the tool ( slot phillips or hex head).
You can drill the retainer out.. either drill a small hole in the retainer and thread a screw into it ( the retainer) so you can get a grip on it. and pull or pry it out or just drill a slightly over sized hole and destroy the retainer completly.
Replace with the correct size allen screw .
