Welcome everybody,
For all thoes new to the site and lockpicking, LP101 is a great place to start.
Take a look at the new users section, first and don't be afraid to ask any questions just remember to try a search before posting.
If you're looking for locks to pick, buy some but, DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON
I repeat DO NOT PICK LOCKS YOU RELY ON, they can and will break, then your house/car/safe/chasity belt is vulnerable or unable to be opened (think: emergency situation).
Cheers,
UWSDWF

If you are 13 I would recomend not to pick locks that will get you into trouble, for example any lock at your school. Once you learn to pick locks you will have to resist the temptation to pick locks that you don't own. I got into trouble at my junior high school for picking locks at the bike racks.

Hahaha... brilliant move.
But I totally see where you're coming from. My locker got jammed in school today and that's when you call a hall moniter they break out the key, but I was so tempted to just reach in my bag and... ahahaha...

As for locks to practice on, the first one that I started with was a master lock.
oh i found the link! this one:
http://www.lowes.com/lowes/lkn?action=p ... lpage=none
it's a 4-pin lock but if you've done your research I thought it was a pretty easy pick.

Lol... and be nice.
As for picks... I have a SouthOrd set (32 pick set) and it works fine but supposedly, a 5 pick set would suffice.
Good luck, love.

Final warning on the language or I'll lock this thread like it should have been to begin with.

Just trying to communicate with a 13yo.
But yeah, the poster is obviously not here for the sport of picking locks, obvious by his question "should i buy lock picks, or go with padlock shims?" Sounds like he's fishing for an easy way into someone's locker.

I'll give him a chance first to see what he does. You never know, he may be the next Jason13 .
