Like most people here we have a nice new fitted kitchen, nothing special, just the sort from B+Q. Now supposing we keep all our medicines in one of these cabinets. Now suppose that wife wants good secure lock put on the door of one to stop a rugrat attack!. Forget those white plastic things on lower cupboards that require pushing down to release, she wants a real good lock with a key (like a yale type or similar). So the Q really is.....what would
you fit? Remember that the unit door doesnt fit into the carcass frame, but butts against the front edge. Cant really fit a till/cupboard lock (like Union 4143) as the bolt comes out too close to the the edge of the carcass, unless the lock body is packed out away from the back of the door which would look dreadful. Any ideas - ideally with model of lock you suggest!

And pls no-one say look in the
Duffells catalogue - lost mine (had it nicked), long story, fed up).
Actually it is not for my own home, but this has been asked of me by my nearby residential home who have such a unit in their kitchen and want to turn it into a medicine cabinet, (no - they dont want to buy anything specific for purpose!!). The residents are adults with learning difficulties and social problems but that doesnt mean that they are all dumb, So you see why a good keyable lock is required.
Sorry to discriminate but since I am in UK I am asking other UK peeps a Q which refers to something they may have in their homes. Other countries' peeps probably use the same units but as I dont know if yours have the same dimensions etc I dont want to get bogged down with too much info ....
