if they're kwikset you'll need a "kwikset core tool". if you do a google search you can find images and make your own.

is there any way to seperate the knob from the rest of handle? it doesnt look like the plug could come out of the front so you may need seperate.

can you insert anything into the small hole between the 2 parts?
poke something in there and see if it releases the knob.

i only have very limited experience but that looks like its assembled and pressed in to shape in the cheapest way possible.. there may be a way to separate it but from the looks of it not without damaging it. but i may be wrong and im sure ill be shouted down/corrected if i am

if you turn the knob and look in the hole there is a pin that can be depressed so you can pull the knob off, on some KIK you need the key to depress te pin but i dont think you will for this
if you do need te key when you turn the knob to align the pin with the hole turn the key the opposite way that you turned the knob and then push the pin in and pull the knob

put the key in turn and then try to push on the rod at the back

You will need to turn the key 1/4 turn then depress the retainer in the marked hole and then pull the knob off the body of the lock
