I would keep any kind of snap device far away from wafer locks. Wafers are very thin, and prone to damage. I would just pick them manually, as they tend to be fairly easy. As Varjeal said, the principles that the pick gun was designed on, simply do not apply to wafer locks. At the worst, you will damage your locks, not your gun. Wafer locks can usually be picked quite easily with a raking technique through a rake, or ball pick, or through single wafer picking with a small half diamond. I would STRONGLY suggest against any kind of autmotive work, until you really understand what you are doing, as many of said locks are orders of magnitute more expensive than you would think they are.
