hi, i recently bought a bunch of locks to try and practice lockpicking, i was able to pick everything except this brass kryponite lock, i was able to get all the pins up and turned, but it wouldl only turn about half way and just sticks. i dont know what that problem is, whether its a security feature or something im just donig wrong, i'd really like to know what it is.
thanks again if you end up helping,

The pins are springing back up into the bottom of the keyway as you rotate the lock, lift the pins to continue turning it,

when it stops turning, the pins dont drop back so i can pick them again. are you sure this is the problem?

put the flat of your pick/tension wrench into the bottom (now inverted) of the keyway, press upward. If it has turned 180 degrees, the driver pins most likely dropped slightly down into the bottom of the keyway, where the blade of the key would normally keep them pushed up and out of the way of the rotation of the plug.

not framiliar with kryptonites besides cylindrical one but it sounds to me like he is describing a spool hung on the shear. try lighting up on the torque, find the pin that makes the keyway rock back and forth slightly and finish setting it. probably the last pin

When you say turns half way do you mean you can turn it a full 180 then it jams, or do you mean you get 5-10 degrees turning out of it then it jams?
The first is the driver pins entering the bottom of the keyway, and can be fixed by pushing them back with the flat of your pick.
The second is a security pin (typically spool shaped) doing its job. Use less tension and try to lift the pin(s) that are set in the spool higher. You may be able to lift the problem pin without resetting the lock, but you may not. Search for spool pins on here for a lot more discussion on getting around them.
