Yes, but automotive discussion is not allowed in the public forums.

Wouldn't it be rewafering with most carlocks?
It's not the tools that open the lock. It's me.

I dont like the attitude in your reply but i will answer your question,
Any lock that has moving parts can be reconfigured to work from a differant key,
If they couldnt then the same key would open every lock,
Think about it,

Oh sorry I keep coming your attitude bone lol not meaning too. Any lock that has moving parts can be reconfigured to work from a different key,
If they couldn’t then the same key would open every lock,

OK I was more thinking repining/waffers after the manufacturing. Some things get sealed when they are manufactured and didn't know if they made these locks non-serviceable. Thanks all.

Well its true a lot are supposed to be unserviceable but most can be if your careful,
I will say however that its a fine line between buying a new lock set and repinning existing locks on some cars it depends what vehicle it is and where you get the locksets,
You might be best crossing bridges when you come to them ie it will become clear in your course

OK thanks one of the reasons I was asking is I am going to have to drive 70miles to get to the junk yard. I wont to get some locks for practicing and another for my Dodge Caravan. I am hopping to just replace one of the locks in the van. My passanger side door will open with any key that you place in it and that bothers me.

You might try spraying it down with some WD40 and running a key blank in and out of it before you replace it.

I've never seen an automotive lock cylinder that could not be rekeyed.
90% of the cylinders that come in to dealerships come in uncoded and either they combinate them or call a locksmith to do it for them.

That means that your wafers are "dead". In another words, the lock is gummed up with dirt and needs only disassembly and cleaning.
