Just because you don't have access yet to the advanced auto forum doesn't really mean you can ask advanced questions in the public forums and expect a honest, helpful and kind answer from us.

I don't have access either and for good reason. THEY DON'T KNOW ME YET. They can get a good idea of your intentions from the posts you write. This may not be a 100% accurate way to do things but it is the only way to do it. I like the way they keep certain information out of prying eyes. I would not wont everything posted in the public area. This does make it harder to learn the information that I would like to have but that’s ok. If I really need the info there are other places to get it.
I have to wait at least 90 days to gain access and by that time I will be through my classes, however; if you have a legitimate question then I am sure there are ways to ask others without placing it at the public eyes. There are PM's and lots of knowledge already on the site. I have not had to ask any questions that were based on real security yet and most would not need to in their first 90days.
I am sure that if they looked at my past posts they would not consider most of them suitable posts for getting into the advanced area. I am sure this post would be looked at as someone trying to quickly gain posts in order to get into the advanced section. They aren’t going to just let you in with 80 posts of this nature.
Good luck and have fun. I look forward to chatting with you in upcoming posts.

I make some also but I prefer to use "store bought" ones, because I don't want to give customers the idea that they can make the tool and do it themselves next time....

Rod,
Most of my homebrew tools no one would suspect are home made. You might be able to tell if you saw them, but the customer has no idea. It's amazing what you can make with fuel line steel tubing and some ingenuity.

You did not break any rules. I was just responding to you mentioning post in order to get into the secure areas of this site. I have already made the number of post I need, however; there are other requirements that are needed. I was giving my view of what I thought your post was about. Please don't take what I said offensive think about it and make your own dissention about whether it’s valid or invalid.

I don't do auto things, but if I did, I certainly would make at least some of my own tools. Several members have posted things in the advanced area that would allow you to make several tools for much cheaper than their commercial equivalent. Can't really say more than that.
Stick around, contribute, and we await your ideas and tools! Oh, and if you ever have a question on wether something is appropriate for the public area, or appropriate at all, just ask one of us mod types.

I make my own tools to do everything and anything, if a factory can make somthing you sure as hell can if you have the skills and tooling,
Zeke is modest, the customer cant tell because his work quality is very good or at least on the bits ive seen him produce,
If somthing exisits it can obviously be made, it may take longer than a facory does somthign but anything can be made from rockets to cars from paper to babies anything you can see that isnt organic has been human made so theres no reason on this earth that someone else can replicate it,
Car wires are the most commonly homemade tools,
As this is auto discussion and this is the public sections i will lock it before one of our more enthusuiastic younger members thinks they are helping by posting up how tos on slim jim making,
