master locks and picks

Alright, so i just started experiementing with all this yesterday...i'm 16 and working on a truck so money is not there and won't be...

i made two picks already
a small half diamond and a snake rake, i kind of ghettoed up a torsion wrench but havent used it yet..

anyways i did my first lock (hooray for me) it is a luggage sized master, i just used the half diamond, lined the pins up and did some leverage stuff and it pops open for me in under 5 seconds usually..

i plan on making more picks, but i don't know which ones to make, i know the templates are on the site, and its bookmarked but no one suggested any i should make for a master lock and maybe a few best locks..

i may have to remake the two in use since they aren't that long...here is a pic, you can really see how small they are, i made those two out of one blade..

can you please suggest some pick ideas..i appreciate it guys, i really do

Well i always use a small hook pick for padlocks. A ball pick i usually use for raking wafer locks. I almost never use rakes because i feel that they cheat lock picking. But if speed is a necessity which is almost never the case then raking is the way to go. So if you are beginning now learn single pin picking first with a hook pick and then towards raking. If you were talking about the " best" locks dont start with those. First you have to learn about the innerwrokings of best locks because they are a bit different so do a search on those...

hm. alright, i'll have to look into those and hopefully make a few more, make them nice, and replace the first set i made. for rakes, is there one for a best since you said they are more complicated?
