ebay, or squelchtone. He accidentally purchased 2, might be willing to let one go affordably

I've ordered a lot of pins and several others items from CLKsupplies.

Pinning kits

Postby boggers » 18 May 2007 21:35

I have had outstanding service with CLK Supplies in Hayden Lake, Idaho.
While I have never purchased a complete kit, I have replenished several of my kits by specific lock brand and by length. My last purchase was for the eight different length bottom pins, top pins, spool drivers and springs for American and Master padlocks. Cost was nominally $1.95 per 100 pins. My total cost for every pin (and two bags of security pins) needed to repin a Master or American padlock plus ten M1 key blanks was $29.10 including $5.95 for priority mail shipping. Received them the second day after I placed the internet order but then I'm only a six hour drive away from them.
They also have a short selection of key blanks.

Squelchtone can set you up I'd say.

I too must say that I have had great service from CLK supplies too.
For the best book out there on high security locks and their operation, take a look at amazon.com for High-Security Mechanical Locks An Encyclopedic Reference. Written by our very own site member Greyman! A true 5 Star read!!

I have a lead on one of these http://cgi.ebay.com/Locksmith-Lab-Universal-Pinning-Kit-003-LDKU3-Nice_W0QQitemZ320115662209QQihZ011QQcategoryZ67030QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

you can also bid on the one above, I would say a fair price is anywhere from $80 to $140 on that set. *Im not the seller of that one, but that's the model I just got and the guy I got it from has another one on hold for me.

Are you planning on doing field work?
If so, I'd pay the extra bucks and get the Durex-pro upgrade, which is pretty much the same as Squelchtone's model, but with a drawer underneath the pins.
It gives instant access to followers, shim supply and blank keys, cap and clip removers, and a ton of other stuff. Believe me, it's really handy to have all that junk immediately at hand.
The clips are kind of dodgey... I'm always worried that they'll open up on me in transit, but it makes a rekey job very simple. You can walk up the stairs with tool box in one hand and pin kit in the other, or sometimes, if you know exactly what your'e going to find, just the pin kit and your electric screwdriver.

One other question, why an .03?
I have the .03 Durex pro, that I won for a submission a Locksmith magazine a bunch of years ago.
It's a nicer kit than the one I used to use, so I switched over from .05 to .03.
I'm not 100 percent sure, but I think there are more guys are on .05 than .03 out there in the world. One supplier I use, doesn't even stock .03 pins.

The preponderance of guys in my region are evidently on .05, and this makes working on master systems kind of a pain. Schlage numbers aren't affected, but some others are.

The .03 is a bit more flexible, having more numbers in total, but sometimes I wish I'd won an .05 instead.
