World's Greatest Safe Cracker??

Postby Ryzom » 8 Mar 2004 20:04

I was just curious if anyone saw the episode of "More Than Human" on the discovery channel, they did a piece on the world's greatest safecracker. Had him go through challenges and everything.

It was incredibly fascinating, the reason he was on the show was because his fingers were incredibly more sensitive than any other normal person's. So he cracks safes just by feel no extra gear.

He cracked a bank safe for the first time on the show in 5 minutes!

I was just curious on what yall thought if anyone saw it.

Hey Ryzom,

I did see the show and it was incredibly amazing. I recorded the show on my computer and would like to put it somewhere where people could download it from. I'm going to try and edit the show to bring the file size down to about 50mb's. Does anyone know where I can upload the video to?

It was amazing seeing the guy open that bank vault in 5 minutes!

He works for a good guy organization which they made completely clear... About 50 times. Didn't say where he worked though. It did say however that he started learning at the age of 12 where he worked at a locksmith shop and there were some books on it and some safes that he worked on, and he cracked his first safe at 15 so he is ahead of me so far :P

The guys name is Jeff Sitar and some of his clients have been the FBI, Special Services, high-end jewelry stores and major banks. He's the 7 time world champion of the Lockmasters International Manipulation contest.

I just finished editing the More Than Human episode down to 67.2mb's and should have the video available soon. The audio is very slightly out of sync but the video quality is excellent.

Quin, if you are able to host this that'll be great. I'll be PMing you so we can set this up. If you are unable to, Varjeal had suggested me asking Mr. Picks (site admin.) to see if he could host it.

It was posted 2 years ago almost to the day so im not supprised its no longer being hosted, maybe the op will host it again for a short time.

I watched a program on sky the other night that made me laugh, 2 teams had to do a heist and on each team there was a so called lock expert, this particular one i watched had a safe cracker on one team and some sort of lockie on the other and neither could open a yale cylinder and both had a EPG, in the end they found a spare set of keys under a plant pot lol
