Has anybody ever tried to make a pick that operates like a rake that has a broad handle to facilitate providing tension at the same time, perhaps opening the lock with one tool? It might work!

I believe that has been done before by someone here on the site, though not with the principles you have stated, but with a pick and no tension wrench.
It was something along those lines.

There was some wierd discussion on a something like this, a CIA pickgun for somecrap that noone could find.
It's not hard to just use your pinky to tension and thunb and pointer finger to hold the pick.

It sounds like it exists, it's just sooper seekret It's not hard to just use your pinky to tension and thunb and pointer finger to hold the pick.
Wow, you do have surgeon's hands - that's really challenging for me. Good stunt though.

I guess it's like picking a profile lock. If you're picking it in your hand you never need a tension wrench.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture

Now its drifting from the one tool to onehanded. One handed picking is done, I use a loop handle bogota, (you cant drop the pick) and a tensor with a loop on one end to attach a rubber band which gos to the pinky finger,
A rake has to be moved in and out of the keyway at least partly, and the out part would unset any tensor attached to it, unless you had a tensor attached to the rake with a coil spring pushing it forward, to counter act the pullout of the rake,
it could be done but it would not be worth the trouble, as it couldnt be as sensitive as an ordinary pick and tensor.
Wake up and smell the Kafka!!!

Ok i do belive what he's thinking would be the same as a small set of jigglers as i have used mine for just what he asked.I got the short stubby set then used a file to make them even smaller. But dont make them too small as the smaller the weaker.
If it isnt broke take it apart and see if you could fix it if it was.

I think you are talking about a jigger like this set: [edit]I think they work much better on wafer locks than pin tumblers. [edit- removed commercial link- from a dead thread -unlisted]

Posting nonsense in VERY old threads goes a long way in being DENIED your advanced application... So, you may want to stop dragging up old threads.
