im new to lock picking and worked i could pick a lock by just using a bent hairclip and the clip off a uniball pen for a tention wrench. what i did was, attempted to rake the lock (as beginners often do) but found there were binding pins that i could not get to set after a rake. so after i raked the hell out of the pins, i slowly released some torque until i had a click. this clicmk was the sound of the driving pin falling back into place. after the click i would attempt to open the lock. if it failed i would use less torque intil i got another click. usually after the second click, and the second driving dropped back into place, the lock would open right up! my quickest time so far is 13.6 seconds

while i get some more locks to work on (hopefully tomorrow) i just wanted to know if anyone has used the method i did and would it work for all locks of a similar nature? i was just using a generic $5 padlock.
thanks guys
