If you are looking for materials to make one by yourself, look for couches that are dumped by the road usually. When I find something like that, I just get a pocketknife or something similar and just strip it
The rest of the couch is usually wood and fillings, they burn well, so an axe or a saw helps to reduce it in size and then you have wood to burn at your fireplace
