Is that true ?
How come ?
Never heard of anything like that before! It don't sound right to me, you pay for the discs and should have them forever.
Meanwhile, I have the books, well worth it, although to be honest there is a lot of "filler" material in them, they could be reduced to one volume without leaving anything out.
It's largely down to the very spacious typeset! And lists, he has lists of lists, then he makes a list of that list, and just to be clear, he will make a list of the list. Then he repeats these lists, you will find the same list repeated about the book's.
If someone out there has a list fettish, this is the book for you
There is a lot, and I mean a lot of "virtually useless" information that would be of interest only to hard core geeky type of people ( I'm guilty of that).
He devotes way too many pages on the exact properties of metal ( for example), way beyond that which is needed, I could read a book about paint drying, and I even got a little bored reading some of this stuff.
Worse, he repeats a lot of the text about the place.
Most of the "jucy" stuff is on this site, and elsewhere, I did not read anything that I did not know, or could not have found out with ease on the net.
In short, it's a very very padded out set of books, however for all that I found is bad about them, they are a nice set of books to have about the place. It's a one stop shop for lockpickers.
Buy them only if you are really committed to lockpicking and have a couple of hundred dollars laying about the place looking for a home!!!!
If your tight on cash, some exotic picks and locks may be a better bang for your buck.
