HI, everyone :D I am going to be making some newbie practice kits, so im wondering. Could some one give me some ideas what i should include, for a resonable price. They will be made from hacksaw blades...
And the tension wrenches will be made from street sweeper bristles. So, if anyone could give me some tips on what to inlclude, so i can get to work when my bench grinder arrives. :P

I suppose it all depends on what you want to include, which would depend on who your market is. You would probably want to include a tension wrench, a half diamond, a half-hook, and possible a snake rake and a ball rake. If you were going to include practice locks with this, Southord has a setup that your could pattern yours after. Good luck.

good idea, im realy sort of aming the kit for the newbies. Ill have a look at the southord practise kits. And the lock if i include one shall be a 265 Tri-circle padlock. Quite easy to pick when you get the hang of it. :D

One thing I might say about starting out picking padlocks is that some (in fact most of the ones I've seen) have some sort of spring tension on the plug, which can potentially throw off the learner's feel for the amount of tension required. Just something to keep in mind. Again I applaud your efforts to help the new guy.

yeh, i'll have to consider this stuff

yeh, starting off with padlocks , does create some bad habbits. But they choose to start with them because there quite cheap and easy to get hold of. Plus when you pick it you can hold it with your left had aswell as the tension wrench and pick away with the right hand. :D well thats what i do anyway 8)
