Can anyone help me with my master #930???

Postby splister » 19 Nov 2007 20:35

I am seriously stuck on my master #930. I get the false set, then try to push pins down and they won't budge. The lock is very greasy. I notice when i take my picks out they always have grease on them. When i open it with the key the shackle is totally greasy. Any advice? Help very appreciated! :)

make sure you're letting up enough tension when you try to set the false set pins.

Sometimes you even have to actually take the tension in back in the way you came from. So if you got the false set by turning the plug clockwise. Try pushing up on the binding pins while turning the plug counter clockwise, back to the original position, but to too much that the pins reset to the locked position. Sometimes it is not sufficient to just "let up on the tension."

Clean it with "Paint Thinner"

Let it stay for some time, in a glass of thinner, with the shackle open.

Then work with it, I use a paint brush to let the thinner run into the keyway and the shackel hole.

*Key in key out x 100 turning the key repeatedly, letting fresh thinner in all the holes!*

Then let it dry, shake it by holding the lock high then thrust it towards the
ground x 50(don't let go of it, hehe!) If you have compressed air it's even better!

Trust me, I have hard gained experience with grease, you don't want to play with a lock that's
stuffed with grease, especially not as a noob!

Then finish off by lubricating all moving parts with "graphite powder"!
*See how above*

:D

Before you pick a lock:
The first thing that you should do is check to make sure that
the lock is your's and secondly make sure its not in use.
