I cant get the last pin up to save my life on a masterlock #1 lol. its like it wont budge, it is pretty old so i guess theres a possibility that its just rusty or somethin, but i dont think thats it. im mostly using a diamond pick, what pick would be best for getting the back one up?

couple of things i do in this case:

1) lube the lock. some time of light oil

2) get every pin u can with the half diamond. then take the hook and SPP the last one that u cant get.

If it's a short pin and you've got the first 3 picked, you'll probably need a hook pick. If the pin won't move at all, soak it with some Tri-Flow or your favorite lube and give it a few smacks on the bench. Before picking again, I use a feeler pick (usually a broken pick that I've smoothed) and make sure I have pin movement on each pin back to front. You should hear each pin snap down. Good luck!
Don't believe everything you think.

Jeta is new, he may still have that idea that its all about forcing the pins as high as possible and holding them there with heavy tension. its not.

Thats interesting you say that rai, because when teaching new pickers, that is the exact thing i see done the most.

while this might be a bit off topic, it has to do with pin problems, in my schlage doorknob (its not in use, its just the knob, no door), I have picked it before, but now when I try to pick it, i get one pin set, but when i set the next binded pin, it unsets the first pin. I try picking in the order when I first picked the lock, but this still happens, also I have used various amounts of tension also.
Any pointers?

Thanks
ps here is the link to the topic that i started about it, it gives a bit of info on the lock.http://www.lockpicking101.com/viewtopic.php?t=24986
