are you a lockie? If so, I'm sure you can call Devon Locks and purchase a nice 2-in-1 tool. if you are doing it as a hobby, making your own 2-in-1 is a lot of fun, but if this is your daily job, and you are having many many problems opening these locks.. perhaps it's time for a new vocation.

There is also the possibility that the locks you are working with are curtain, so you will need curtain lever picks.

keep practicing, you'll get it.

The OP is not a lockie. All lockies know what tools are best suited for which purpose. It then boils down to personal preference as to which brand of curtain pick or 2-in-1 pick etc is best suited for them.

Vanhelsin - why are you having to open so many? Does your work involve opening mortice locks? Or just a hobbyist?

You sure about that :-)
I know plumbers that use a lump hammer, irrespective of the task at hand!
I bet there are plenty of lockies that use a drill in a similar manner.

Fair point

I was assuming that even people who go on a two day 'locksmith' course are at least shown various picks and applications, which would have answered the OP's query in the first place and so he wouldnt needed to ask here.

The correct key or the wonderful drill will open ALL mortice locks. Who needs training????
