2 Questions.

Postby snijboer » 10 Dec 2007 15:52

I'm not so good at english i try my best i can to make it understand.

1) I picked a door long time ago, and when i was rotating to the right (180 degrees) then it start to stuck when i rotate it! So my question is:

Why does it stuck when i picked it and rotate it 180 degrees?
Does every cilyinder lock stucks when you rotate 180 degrees?

Another question is for warded locks

2) I got 2 warded locks, And when i try my own warded keys (skeleton) it never opens. Did i do something wrong? I did just rotate it and then i can't rotate further to open it.

Thats all i want to know, And yes i know *Dont ever pick doors that are in use*

Cheers!

The reason that the lock will seise up would be the driver pins that are pushed by the spring drop into the cylinder will then stop any other rotation beyond that point. I hope this is clear.

agreed. driver pins drop in to the "Bottom" of the keyway if it is wide at that end. you can push them up with something flat and it will carry on turning once they meet the shear line.

warded lock "Picks" can be made by cutting down the original key. if it doesn't operate like a key on the original lock you cut to much off.

Are you sure the skeleton key you are using is the correct shape for the lock?
