Hey Everyone,

I'm expecting my lock picks to arrive this week, after waiting through the holidays, which is apparently a very poor time to ship anything. As my picks arrive:

SP-04 Double Ball Lock Pick
SP-06 Large Diamond Pick
SP-08 Long Hook Lock Pick
SP-10 C Rake Lock pick
SP-12 L Rake Lock pick
SP-14 W Rake Lock pick
SP-07 Small Diamond Lock Pick
SP-09 Short Hook Lock Pick
SP-11 S Rake Lock pick
TW-18 Tension Wrench - Double-ended
TW-03 Tension Wrench - Long Twist Flex
SPS-20 Padlock Shims

I was wondering what some reasonably priced deadbolts/padlocks locks you guys would recommend under 30$ roughly each?
Also any Canadian locations to buy would be excellent too.

The tools I use are:
-Short hook
-Small Diamond
-A large variety of tension wrenches
(My tools are of good quality)

I've been picking for about a month, and started with a no-name deadbolt, and made my way too an ilco-pin cylinder, and been able to pick it with 2 spool pins in under 30 seconds. From there I’ve been able to pick my Schlage (SP1 Keyway) a few times. As I make my movement into real picks, I would appreciate some guidance in lock choice.

Locks Picked
-Weslock Old Cylinder 5-pin
-ilco Noname? 5-pin
-Defiant 5-pin (security pin)
-Schlage 5-pin (scary)
-Masterlock Unknown

Happy New Year, And thanks for reading.

It seems to me you've got a good start with locks. You can get alot of good locks for $30 or under. One solution is to simply move the pins in the locks you have to make them like new ones. Try a Brinks shrouded padlock. It will give you hours of wonderful picking frustration.

Abus padlocks with security pins.
Profile Cylinders with hex screws for easy changing of the pin configuration.

I have these locks. They have hex screws on the top of the bible for easy re-pinning. They're all SC1 keyways though.
If a lock is a puzzle, then its key is the complete picture
