Where to buy picks

Postby jjjjhayesjj » 2 Jan 2008 23:11

Hello im new here and had a few questions.

So i was thinking about picking up a set of picks and i went to lockpicks.com and it says: LockPicks.com or its parent will not deliver any locksmithing device through the mail to a person who cannot certify that he/she/it falls into one of the aforementioned categories.

I just wanted some picks to mess around with as a hobb, im not a prfessional or anything. Is this like that on all websites?

Can someone tell me a good place online to buy picks that doesnt need you to verify your a locksmith? The place i order from when the box comes, does it say like right on the box LOCK PICKS.

Also i live in ohio if the box doesnt say lockpicks on it or anything can i get in trouble for having these sent to my house?

I appreciate your help in advance i just wana know if where i should buy picks fromand if il be safe doing so.

Definately not all sites are like that.

Here are a couple you can try:
http://southord.com/index.htm
http://www.lockpickshop.com/
http://www.lockpicktools.com/
http://www.peterson-international.com/

All you really need is a small set to start, with a few picks and a few tension wrenches.

ok thanksman i was just looking at the southard site and it says: By placing an order for locksmithing tools, the buyer asserts to be, without fraud or deception, a bonafied member of the locksmithing industry, or other qualified personnel.

Do they enforce that? Also if you know, What will the box say that is sent to my house? Im moving out of my parents house in 30 days. i Just dont want a box to come in the mail that says LOCK PICKS on it because i just dont want to hear my dads mouth

I ordered from there and they didn't do any sort of checking, I didn't even notice that text on the page.

The package was just a plain envelope, no indication of contents. As I recall it didn't even say SouthOrd on it.

u have nothing to worry about. its just for them to pass off liability to you in case you break the law with the picks you order. and that particular site only actually verifies the sale of bump keys. everything else is in the clear
