SOUTHORD PXS-17
And I'm not sure which pick is whick I no what the snake is and the regular pick, but what r the other ones is there a chart some where that says the name of each pick and the use of each one.
Or what locks the work best on...

Congrats on getting the picks! I'm sure they'll bring you lots of good fun and challenges.

Start by reading the MIT Guide. If you've read it already, you're on a good start, but read it again! http://www.gregmiller.net/locks/mitguide/ There are some great excercises to help get you started.

Picks are a matter of preference. generallly you're going to use a snake to rake a lock, and a hook or half diamond to pick pin by pin. Use whichever you like best; personally, I'm partial to a combination of the short and long hooks. Practice, practice, practice and you;ll start to get a feel for it.

I love the MiT Guide read it about half a dozen times.
I need to identfy my picks can someone help??????????????????????


Also I want to start on door knobs (tubulrLocks) ANY HELP WHICH PICK TO USE I also have the Southord Gun

Please help me out.
I would love to have a diagram with each pick and what they work best on.
That would be helpful for all us especially the beginners....

Question - Did you ever read the WHOLE MIT guide? Because there's a section in the index that has pictures of the most common types of picks and they're names. Also, interspersed throughout the guide is when you would want to use what pick...

You might want to read it again.

I think you are confused as most key in knob locks are pin tumbler. Most vending machines are tubular. Reread the MIT guide. :lol:

Yeah I need to know how to open PIN TUMBLER common door knobs wow sorry u all. any advice or whick picks work best Please I gonna check out the MIT Guide again To lock up the best picks But if you all have any good tips to open a pin tumberlar lock PLEASE LET ME KNOW THXS ..

WHATS UP ALL! I just got the SOUTHORD MPXS-32 Pick Set

I need some help Identifying the picks though.
Not only that, I thought It would be good for all Newbie's to be able to tell whats what.
So I'll post some pictures and maybe a MOD can clean it up later after someone Can Identify , name each pick I numbered them already..

Ok Pheoniox perhapes you are missing the point .
If there is a sticky with a 32 peice lock pick set identifying all the picks then There wouldn't be no new threads about what pick is what just telling the person look up 007's sticky thread there are a variety of picks named and identified their.


Yes I did search a while too but thought this would be a good Idea and 0once done a moderator can clean it up

Ok here are the second set this is the SOUTHORD MPXS-32 Pick set I took seperate pictures of each bunch .
they were together in one little pocket of the leather case

I know this is a tension wrench but can't remeber for which type of lock,?
