The ONLY part of the Smartkey lock that is Grade 1 is the bolt mechanism. The actual keyway area, screws, other parts, are just run of the mill Grade 2 or Grade 3 parts; that is, if they even bothered to rate the rest of the lock.

I will say that it seems better made than the Kwiksets prior to the Smartkey model. So who knows, maybe Kwikset will be the next Schlage or BEST some day. Just like when Hyundai cars were first total garbage, and now they're making border line luxury sedans. Give it time.
