would JPXS6 be a good for someone with absolutely no experience ad want to start?

i think it's a good tool overhall, but for me, it's a little bit expensive for the number of picks you get.

better get a cheap pickset as you will certainly bend or damage them at the beginning

If you are talking about the JXPS-6 jack knife set from southord you should not start with this. It has its place out there but not for beginners. Instead I would go with the PXS-05L 5 piece set for less than half the price of the jacknife and is good enough to start learning the basics. (I'm assuming you are going off the southord website also).

why not try making a set? you can have all the picks you can handle for $40.

jacknives are not good starter sets, if you know how to pick you never want to leave home with outh them but for starters, looks at something between 5-10 picks regular handles

A couple picks in a case can't be that much more difficult to carry than the jackknife set.
