The first picked locks

Postby Confucius » 6 Sep 2004 13:00

Today I've opened my first two locks. Both were simple tumbler locks, crappy as hell. But hey, they opened with the help of a tiny screwdriver the size of my middlefinger and a safety pin. One was my mailboxlock, the other one the closet of my mathteacher (and yes, I did ask him if he would mind before I started :P)

I was wondering: can all you experienced people remember what the first lock was that you ever picked?

Yup. A Weiser on the bench. Took me an hour.

Cool. I wonder how that feels, after one whole hour of picking the lock finally opening. Must be the one and only way to addiction :P

btw, sorry for posting the topic in the wrong thread.

It was probably one of the few times I actually threw a lock...hehehe..made me awful determined when I worked on the next one though.

I was about twelve and had a tiny Abus padlock. I took a paperclip, unfolded it and then refolded it, stuck it into the keyway, turned and turned until the paperclip was all screwed up (literally), turned some more and presto, the hasp shot open.

With a paperclip and a bent screwdriver, I picked a master lock in about 20 mins. Before that I had opened tons of combo locks by feel. 8)
